After a grenade was thrown at a house in block 9 of Bastion Popular three months ago, the event was repeated. The same house was attacked with explosives, but this time one of the two devices was activated in the roof and made a hole in the zinc sheets.
Although the incident, recorded the previous Wednesday, did not leave any injuries in the sector, the incident caused fright. This recent attack occurred at 01:20.

Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Rivadeneira, chief in charge of the Pascuales District, mentioned that in September there lived a young man who had just left the Litoral Penitentiary.
He said that this person moved to another province, but when this new attack occurred, the Prosecutor’s Office intervened to investigate.
Rivadeneira mentioned that the inhabitants of the house have no criminal record or open investigations, so it is presumed that the target of the first attack had come to that house to spend a few days for the Christmas holidays and the attackers found out.
For now, the Police have collected several pieces of evidence by order of the Prosecutor’s Office. It was also known that the device used this time is handcrafted, made with explosive gel.
“One of them exploded on the roof; the other fell in the courtyard and did not detonate. The Prosecutor’s Office ordered the transfer to a safe place for its detonation, ”said Rivadeneira.
