Opponent of the “rainbow” in school lessons sued Artemy Lebedev 116 thousand rubles for insult

The Pushkinsky District Court of St. Petersburg ordered the designer and blogger Artemy Lebedev to compensate the moral damage to the activist Olga Baranets in the total amount of 116 thousand 900 rubles. The outcome of the case was reported in the united service of city courts.

We are talking about a conflict that began in December last year, when Artemy Lebedev, in one of his videos on YouTube, criticized an article in one of the media. The material was devoted to the appeal of the “family ombudsman” Olga Baranets to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to find out what kind of tolerance lessons are being held in one of the Moscow schools. She attached photographs of children with rainbow drawings and wondered exactly what values were discussed in class.

“There is such Olga Baranets in St. Petersburg, who is like“ a public defender for family affairs … This is a post that has been sucked out of her fingertips, she appointed herself, she herself decided that she was worried about the families, and she wrote a complaint to the Ministry of Internal Affairs somewhere that some schoolchildren had drawn a couple of rainbows in some lesson … ” – said in his video Artemy Lebedev, adding that the prosecutor’s office is always written by “city madmen”, and journalists do not need to broadcast their claims to their audience.

“We have 5% of the population – cuckoo, this is called neurodiversity. And these neuro-diverse people write different *** (garbage) to different departments, – Lebedev summed up. – No one forbids children to draw any rainbow. Draw, you won’t get anything. “

For this speech, Baranets intended to collect 8 million rubles from Lebedev and his studio: 3 million for compensation for moral damage in connection with the insult inflicted, 300 thousand in connection with the dissemination of personal data and 5 million rubles in connection with copyright infringement. Defendant Lebedev did not appear at the hearing, his representative asked to refuse the claim.

According to the expert’s conclusion, the text did contain negative information about Baranets and was offensive.

The court recovered from Lebedev in favor of Baranets compensation for moral damage in the amount of 50 thousand rubles, the cost of paying for the examination in the amount of 66 thousand rubles and the cost of paying the state duty in the amount of 900 rubles.

Let us remind you that Olga Baranets calls herself a public ombudsman for the protection of the family, but has nothing to do with the system of official ombudsmen for human rights. Earlier it was reported that Baranets tried to sue ex-deputy Oksana Pushkina after a dispute over the series “Chiki”. The activist filed a complaint with the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Netflix about LGBT content with an age limit of 16+.
