Police officers carried out raids on places of compact residence of Roma in the Leningrad Region, as a result of which drugs and weapons were withdrawn from the illegal circulation. This was reported by the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Police officers and Rosgvardia officers checked several settlements in the Vsevolozhsk and Gatchina districts. According to the results of the raids, there were several hundred Roma in the departments. They were checked against the police information bases and fingerprinted, the Interior Ministry said.
After searches in private homes, weapons and ammunition were seized. In addition, police officers found several parcels of drugs.
According to the department, criminal cases were opened on the fact of illegal circulation of weapons and drugs. Four people were detained as suspects.
The raids were carried out as part of criminal cases of theft and fraud.
