After the dismissal of three people, the Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation against other alleged implicated in the murder of Jorge Luis Zambrano.
A year after the assassination of Jorge Luis Zambrano González, alias JL or Rasquiña, who was the leader of the Los Choneros gang, there are still no prosecuted for his hitman-style death.
The incident took place around 6:00 p.m. on December 28, 2020, in a cafeteria located inside a shopping center in Manta.

Those three people who were investigated in the first instance were Lisa MFP, José JSB and Nelson NRP; The latter was even arrested on the night of December 28 and is the one who was presumed in the investigation as an assistant to the person who shot JL.
“There were three people there (for a new investigative process for JL’s death), there were telephone links, they were not with names, but there were three people to be investigated to find the direct author (of death), because they never found the direct author, ”Delgado reported.

The murder of Zambrano generated several disputes between gangs.
