British Interior Minister calls Russia a hostile state

Russia, China and Iran are Britain’s most hostile states, British Security Secretary Damian Hinds told The Telegraph.

According to the minister, these three countries “have human resources, are widely present in cyberspace and can be deployed on a large scale.” He also stressed that these countries “can and are conducting information operations and are participating in them in many different ways.” In particular, he noted such threats as “spies on the ground, cyberattacks, military on alert, disinformation campaigns.”

The publication notes that earlier the same was stated by the head of British intelligence MI6, Richard Moore.

Among other threats to Britain, the minister named lockdown measures that could lead to an increase in terrorist activity due to the fact that “people are forced to stay at their computers at home outside of society,” and this is used by recruiters of extremist organizations.

The British intelligence services have previously stated that extremists are seeking to exploit the restrictions associated with the pandemic, which have forced people to spend more and more time on the Internet.
