Four packages with packaging wrappers were thrown into one of the patios of the Centro de Rehabilitación Social (CRS) Ambato, on Friday afternoon. After rigorous analysis, it was determined that the substance they contained was marijuana.
Through the work of uniformed men from Subzone 18 of the National Police, in Tungurahua, together with prison security agents, the packages were seized.

Personnel from the Tungurahua Anti-Narcotics and Criminalistics Unit also arrived at the scene. Preliminarily, it was indicated that the substance subject to control was going to be marketed among persons deprived of liberty (PPL) of the CRS Ambato.

The Police are investigating where the drugs arrived from and to whom they were destined inside the penitentiary, meanwhile they continue the surveillance work outside the CRS.
