Gazprom is ready to supply additional volumes of gas to Europe under long-term contracts and is cheaper than the spot. This, as reported by “Prime”, said the representative of the company Sergei Kupriyanov.
“Gazprom, both earlier and now, is ready to supply additional volumes of gas within the framework of existing long-term contracts, and the price of these supplies is significantly lower than on the spot,” he said.
Kupriyanov also denied accusations of insufficient gas supplies to Europe.
“All accusations against Russia and Gazprom that we are supplying little gas to the European market are absolutely groundless, unacceptable, untrue. To put it simply – lies and lies, ”he added.
According to him, Gazprom does not reserve transport capacities, since “a number of our clients, in particular from France and Germany, have already fully selected all their annual contract volumes and, accordingly, no longer place bids for gas supplies, and Gazprom book transport facilities on the basis of available applications, and not vice versa. “
For the sixth day in a row Gazprom did not book the capacity of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline for gas transit through Poland.
If earlier the company had booked 31.4 million cubic meters each, then on December 17 it bought 27 million cubic meters, on December 18 – 5.2 million, on December 19 – 4.2 million, on December 20 – 3.8 million.
Earlier, The Telegraph reported that the heads of two British energy companies (EDF and Good Energy), as well as the industry association Energy UK, have addressed the government with a statement about a “national crisis” due to skyrocketing gas prices amid Russia’s refusal to increase supplies.
