The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation began a check after several journalists watched a video with sermons of the former schema-abbot Sergius (Nikolai Romanov). One of the defendants, Pavel Pivovarov, spoke about this.
“The reason is, of course, incredibly absurd. I need to come and explain to the investigator for what purpose I watched the video of the speeches of Schema monk Sergius … “Calling journalists, distracting them from work, because of watching a video on a business need is a complete mess,” he wrote on Facebook.
Pivovarov explained that he did not support Sergius and his views. He expressed concern that journalists in Russia will soon have to report to the security forces about the views of any content.
Recall that in November, the disgraced father Sergius (Nikolai Romanov) was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison. He was found guilty of inclining to suicide, violation of the right to freedom of conscience and religion and arbitrariness. Today it became known about a new case.
The former schema-abbot was detained on December 29, 2020 during an assault in the Sredneuralsky nunnery. He was charged with unauthorized living in a monastery and public calls for suicide by nuns.
