Bloomberg: Russia continues to build up troops on the border with Ukraine

Russia continues to build up the group of forces on the border with Ukraine and pulls military equipment into the region, reports Bloomberg based on satellite images of the Janes company.

According to the agency, based on the images, it can be concluded that since November, tanks, artillery weapons and air defense systems have been moved to the border areas. The agency suggests that, if necessary, Russia “will quickly strengthen these forces” by sending large formations on trains and planes.

In turn, AP, citing the American intelligence community, reports that the Russian authorities may plan an “invasion of Ukraine” with the participation of up to 175 thousand troops in January 2022. A US administration official told the agency that, according to intelligence, “half of the Russian personnel have already been deployed near the border with Ukraine.”

Also, an anonymous source added that “the plans provide for the relocation of 100 battalion tactical groups along with armored vehicles, artillery and equipment.”

Let us remind you that the Russian side rejects all suspicions.
