Ministry of Agriculture: In February, bread and sunflower oil will rise in price in Russia

In Russia, by February, retail prices for wheat flour may rise by 3.7%, bread – by 2.1% and sunflower oil – by 2.2% compared to November prices. Such a forecast is contained in the report of the Ministry of Agriculture to the government, Izvestia writes with reference to the document.

The Ministry of Agriculture assumes that by February 2 flour in stores will cost up to 47 rubles per kilogram, a loaf of bread weighing 700 g – 43 rubles, a liter of sunflower oil – 137.4 rubles.

At the same time, as the department specifies, prices for wheat continue to decline in the world market. In Russia, wheat did not rise in price in December, however, producers’ costs for transportation, packaging and utility bills are growing, and therefore prices will also rise.

The situation with sunflower oil is similar: the cost of sunflower seeds will decrease by 3.1%, while prices for vegetable oils in the world market are decreasing due to the optimistic forecasts of the producing countries on the level of production. However, the retail price in the domestic market is influenced by the associated costs of manufacturers.

Recall that in the summer, bread producers warned retailers about a possible rise in prices for their products by 7-12%. The Ministry of Agriculture then said that there were no prerequisites for a significant increase in prices for bakery products.
