It is presumed that the vehicle was coming at speed and hit a wall where the now-deceased woman was leaning on.
A woman in her 30s died this Thursday morning in a traffic accident on the road to Daule, near the Popular Bastion, in the north of Guayaquil.
Captain José Rivas, from the Transit and Mobility Agency (ATM), commented that it is presumed that the vehicle was coming at speed and hit a wall where the woman was leaning.
“He cut off both of her legs and she was fired at a considerable distance of about 30 meters, this indicates that the vehicle was coming at speed,” commented the uniformed man.

He added that the driver of the vehicle was detained, the car was taken to the vehicle retention yards.
The officer commented that the driver indicated that he was not speeding, that the lady was hesitant to cross, which also caused confusion in him and the accident happened.
He added that the residents indicated that the woman had gone out to buy chickens in a nearby poultry farm, as she has a restaurant in that sector.
Traffic officers went to the site to control traffic congestion after the accident, also personnel from the Traffic Accident Investigation Office (OIAT) went to the point to have more details of the event. (I)
