“We know what to do”: Putin lists the main challenges and growth drivers for Russia – Rosbalt

Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that the key challenges for Russia, but at the same time points of growth for the economy, are issues of demography, employment and infrastructure development. He stated this today during a large press conference.

According to the head of state, from the point of view of demographics, 146 million inhabitants for such a huge country as Russia is “completely insufficient.”

At the same time, he stressed, it is necessary to increase the number of the able-bodied population. In addition, it is necessary to invest in the development of infrastructure.

“We spend 500 billion directly on infrastructure development, then 260 billion on national projects, and next year, I think, 460 billion. From the National Welfare Fund (National Welfare Fund – Ed.) 2.5 trillion rubles in total, “the President noted.

In general, he assured: “We know what needs to be done. Resources are foreseen and allocated rhythmically. We have them. It is important to get the most out of every ruble. ”

Recall that today, Russian President Vladimir Putin is already holding a large annual press conference at the 17th. As previously indicated by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov, 507 media employees were accredited for the event, including media foreign agents, who will be able to freely ask questions to the president. We add that Putin first tested the format of communication with journalists 20 years ago – in 2001.
