The Ministry of Public Health presented a digital tool where information about the impact of COVID-19 in Ecuador can be found.
Not only for those over 60 the placement of the booster dose against the coronavirus will be advanced.
That process started this Wednesday just as the Government had announced.
According to the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), in January 2022, the interval five months between the second and third dose will be for the over 50 years and with the complete scheme, that is, two doses.
From 18 to 49 years they will receive the doses six months after the second, said that ministry.
The vaccines to be used will be those of AstraZeneca and CanSino; and, based on availability, those of Pfizer will be used.
For people who accessed Covishield vaccines, Modern, Novavax, Sputnik, Sinopharm, among others, outside the country, will place reinforcements of AstraZeneca and Pfizer, five months after the second dose.
While that of Johnson & Johnson it will be two months later.

Meanwhile, that State portfolio presented the so-called COVID-19 Open Data Digital Platform.
That tool is divided into three parts.
On that platform you can find, on the first part, to those vaccinated by epidemiological week, by sex, by nationality, also by the name of the vaccine as well as by province.
In the second part there are patients confirmed by symptoms, by care and by notification.
In the third part are the deceased by COVID-19, confirmed, probable and confirmed most probable.
In the presentation of the tool, the Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, ruled out that, for now, the omicron variant is community.
In a discussion with the media carried out via digital, he pointed out that it is considered that there is community contagion when the so-called case zero it is no longer the cause of contagion from a close circle.
He indicated that it must first be done sample genotyping, process that is being carried out.
Garzón mentioned that omicron is an extremely contagious variant, so the current epidemiological panorama is going to change next week. Ecuador has already confirmed 21 cases of the omicron variant.

With respect to vaccination certificate, whose presentation would be mandatory from this Thursday, December 23 to attend certain places, the official mentioned that they were working on guidelines with the National Emergency Operations Committee (COE) and with local governments for its implementation.
The presentation of the document, with the complete vaccination schedule, would apply to people over 12 years of age who want to attend restaurants, malls, food courts, cinemas, nightclubs, tolerance centers.
The requirement of the card or certificate will be for non-essential activities. It will not be mandatory for topics of work, education and health care.
The measure will be in force until January 23, 2022, with a previous report from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP); although local governments, such as the Municipality of Quito, ruled out its obligation because for their authorities would be a restriction of rights.
