Silverfish mainly inhabit warm and humid places, such as bathrooms, kitchen cabinets and pantries. They get through various leaks (e.g. drain grates or holes in the walls). They are most often found in blocks of flats, where they spread more easily between neighbors. If silverfish appear in your home sporadically, you may not even notice their presence. However, when they are massive, they act on the nerves and make us want to get rid of them as soon as possible – ideally.

Although silverfish primarily feed on starch and complex sugars, they can find food in almost everything that can be found on our floors: crumbs, skin, paper and even towels. Moreover, where there is moisture, they eat as well. So if you want to prevent silverfish, you just need to “deprive them of food”, that is, clean them up more often.
