According to the Municipality of Quito, the capacity in public transport is reduced from 100% to 75%.
The Emergency Operations Committee (COE) of the Metropolitan District de Quito made restrictive changes following the resolutions of the national Emergency Operations Committee (COE) on the capacity of open and closed spaces for the Christmas and New Year festivities.
According to the Municipality of Quito the new capacities son:
- Auditoriums, convention centers, accommodation, reception rooms and others (corporate and academic events) abroad, 80%.
- Transport public, 75 %.
- Restaurants (in 60% indoors), auditoriums, convention centers, accommodation, reception rooms and others (corporate and academic events); auditoriums, convention centers, accommodation, reception rooms and others (social events) abroad in 70 %.
- Gyms without contact activities, shopping malls, markets, supermarkets, 65 %.
- Banking agencies and corporate, 60 %.
- Restaurants inside, 60 %.
- Cinemas, theaters, municipal spas 50 % and hours of use from 06:00 to 18:00.
- Auditoriums, convention center accommodation, reception room and others (social events) inside, 60 %.
- Bars and discotheques, tolerance and nightlife centers, training centers; training centers and gyms that carry out contact activities, public shows, 30%.
The Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, had made an appeal to the Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GAD) for the suspension of activities such as bars, discos or the like.
With respect to consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages in the capital city, the resolution that prohibits it will be applied.
From December 23, it will be mandatory to present the vaccination card or certificate to enter public places, by provision of the national COE
The COE of Quito welcomed the recommendation that public events authorized before December 14 be held with new capacities and presenting the vaccination card or negative PCR tests.
For those who burn openwork puppets and use pyrotechnics there will be sanctions.
With these modifications, the capital of the Republic becomes epidemiological alert level by COVID-19 from yellow to orange. (I)
