Russia will be punished for not paying alimony in full

The State Duma adopted in the third reading laws toughening responsibility for non-payment of alimony for children and elderly parents, a Rosbalt correspondent reports.

Amendments to the Administrative Code propose to ensure the possibility of bringing to administrative responsibility persons who pay alimony, but not in full. According to the Code of Administrative Offenses, for failure to pay alimony within two months, a fine of up to 20 thousand rubles is imposed, and other types of punishment are also provided.

In turn, according to the new norms in the Criminal Code, non-payment of alimony without good reason will be recognized as their “failure to pay in the amount established in accordance with a court decision or a notarized agreement,” that is, not completely.

At the same time, a condition is provided for exemption from criminal liability, namely, if the person has fully repaid the debt on the payment of alimony in the manner determined by the legislation of the Russian Federation. As follows from the explanatory note to the documents, these innovations will avoid different interpretations of non-payment of alimony in law enforcement practice.
