Four people were injured in a factory fire on the road to Calacalí, north of Quito

The company was dedicated to the production of aerosols and cleaning products. It took 55 firefighters to control the flames.

At dawn on Tuesday, a structural fire broke out in the facilities of a factory, located on the road to Calacalí, north of the capital, which required the intervention of 55 members of the Quito Fire Department (CBQ).

The flames caused four people to be injured. Two of them were transferred to the Calderón Hospital and another two to the Carlos Andrade Marín Hospital.

Esteban Cárdenas, commander of the CBQ, was part of the team that went to the scene. From there, he reported that the factory, called Envapress, was dedicated to the production of aerosol and cleaning products.

In addition to the 55 firefighters, they needed three ambulances, three trucks, eight fire fighting units, three rescue units, a fire investigation unit and four supply units for fire control, extinction, cooling and subsequent debris removal. , in order to prevent other infrastructures from being affected, the institution reported.

The situation was reported to the Emergency Center of the Fire Department, at 01:53, through the Integrated Security System ECU 911.

The circumstances that originated the incident will be analyzed by the CBQ Fire Investigation Unit. (I)
