There is a reduction in capacity for certain activities and the prohibition of consuming alcoholic beverages in public spaces is maintained.
In Manta and Portoviejo, no prohibitions have been issued regarding the burning of puppets, according to the latest resolutions adopted by the Emergency Operations Committees (COE) of these two Manabi cities.
Portoviejo adapted some of the national COE resolutions of December 14, but did not include the issue of prohibiting the burning of puppets. The same happened in Manta, where nothing has been said about that measure.
In Portoviejo, the capacity in the places of public concentration such as restaurants, cinemas, theaters, gyms, beaches and spas, with 75%; circuses and galleras with 60%; event rooms, bars, karaoke bars, restaurants and discos, with 50%.
The hours of attention to the public will be until 02:00.
In the case of sports fields, they may have 50% of spectators only until 00h00 and after signing the responsibility agreement; while tolerance centers have a 40% capacity until 00h00 from Monday to Saturday.
Public transport can operate with a capacity of 100%, and private vehicles can circulate without restrictions. In which a call is made to the public is to maintain the total ban on consuming alcoholic beverages in public space.
In Manta, in places of mass concentration such as bars, restaurants, karaoke bars and nightclubs, the attention to the public will also be until 02:00, although it is analyzed if by the dawn of January 1, that attention extends until 04:00 , but the COE of this canton has not yet issued a version in this regard, said Isidro RodrÃguez, director of the local tourism department.
“The capacity in hotels is 100%, restaurants 75%, the only thing that varies is the issue of massive events that will not be allowed at least in public spaces, and we do not plan to hold events,” said RodrÃguez.
For the holiday of January 1, it is expected that about 40,000 people will circulate in Manta, while until last weekend in four and five-star hotels in this canton the reservation level already reached 80%.
In both cantons, no activities such as concerts or mass activities have been scheduled for the Christmas and New Year holidays. In Manta, access to its spas, both urban and rural, will be from 06:00 to 18:00. (I)
