Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov is convinced that in the coming months the World Health Organization (WHO) may recognize the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. He stated this in the film “Dangerous Virus. Second Year ”on the TV channel“ Russia-1 ”.
“I am deeply convinced that literally for several months, foreseeable prospects, the WHO will nevertheless recognize Sputnik, and then it will also be possible to advance on this path with the Europeans,” the press secretary quotes TASS.
Recall that on December 14, he told reporters that Russia has not yet provided the World Health Organization with part of the information for the certification of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine due to discrepancies in the standards.
However, Peskov assured that “work is continuing there (at WHO – ed.)” On the approval of the drug, and Moscow expects a positive solution to this issue.
Note that Russia filed an application for registration of Sputnik V back in October 2020, but the drug was never approved. And on December 4, it became known that an inspection by experts of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia to evaluate the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine will take place no earlier than January 2022.
