RBC: Migrants from the Polish-Belarusian border are “transferred” to Germany according to the worked out scheme

The migration crisis on the border of Belarus and Poland is gradually coming to an end: the Iraqi authorities are reporting on the evacuation of 3.5 thousand citizens by evacuation flights from Belarus, and there is no spontaneous camp outside the Bruzgi checkpoint near Grodno.

At the same time, RBC contacted migrants who were able to cross the Belarusian-Polish border, and then get to Germany. It turned out that Iraqi migrants enter Germany from the Polish-Belarusian border thanks to services that were paid in advance at a travel agency in their homeland.

“A few days after the meeting in Minsk (interlocutors of RBC – ed.) Went to the border of Belarus with Poland. RBC’s interlocutors could not say which section of the border it was: they were brought there by taxi, as they had previously promised in the travel agency. The only thing they know is not the place where the spontaneous camp of migrants was located, ”the agency notes.

In addition to them, about 60–70 people gathered at the border, whom they had not seen before. When everyone was assembled, the Belarusian border guards let them into the neutral zone. There they spent three days, hiding in the forest, after which they were able to get to the no-man’s land from the Polish side. Then there were six days with overnight stays in the forest without food, during which they were looking for a way to get into the country. On the last day, the entire group was “covered” by Polish border guards, and many migrants were caught, although some managed to escape and get to Poland. They didn’t manage to get to Germany right away, they had to spend three more days in Poland. All this time, they were waiting for a car that would take them to their final destination.

“The driver was a local Pole. We paid for his services, as well as the services of everyone who helped us in Belarus, back in Iraq before leaving the country. So everything was in accordance with the agreement, ”said one of the migrants.

Recall that the migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the European Union began at the end of May 2021, and by the beginning of November, thousands of illegal refugees had accumulated on the Belarusian-Polish border, who tried to break through to the EU countries on November 16. Poland, Lithuania and Latvia accuse Belarus of trying to destabilize the situation in Europe with the migration crisis. In response, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated that the Western countries were to blame for the situation, and Minsk would no longer restrain the flow of illegal migrants to the EU countries: because of the West’s sanctions, there was “neither money, nor strength” for this. Commenting on the conflict, Russian President Vladimir Putin previously indicated that many refugees died on the border of Belarus and Poland.
