The accomplice of the ex-deputy director of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the general director of Unistroy LLC, Maya Gagua, received a 4 and a half years probation for the theft of almost 95 million rubles and the legalization of criminally obtained property.
According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, in 2015-2017, Deputy Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Oleg Korshunov ensured the direction of budgetary funds allocated for the construction of a pre-trial detention center in Simferopol to controlled contractors led by his accomplices: Valery Kaklyugin, who was the acting director of FSUE SU-23 of the Federal Penitentiary Service Russia, Maya Gagua and her acquaintance Andrei Uglanov. The last part of the received budgetary funds in the amount of 94.6 million rubles was cashed and disposed of without completing construction work.
Gagua pleaded guilty and entered into a pre-trial cooperation agreement. By a court verdict, she was sentenced to 4.5 years of suspended imprisonment.
Investigative actions in the criminal case against Korshunov, Kaklyugin and Uglanov have been completed. Depending on the role of each, they are charged with “fraud and the legalization of stolen money.
Korshunov himself has already received seven years in prison for stealing more than 263 million rubles intended for the purchase of shoes for prisoners, after which he was added two more years in the case of embezzling more than 155 million when concluding contracts for the supply of fuels and lubricants and sugar.
