Expert Klevitskaya told why you should choose St. Petersburg for your first trip to Russia

Maria Klevitskaya, senior lecturer at the Faculty of Hospitality at Synergy University, recommends choosing St. Petersburg for your first trip to Russia. She emphasizes that the city is called the Venice of the North because of its special atmosphere.

One of the advantages of traveling to St. Petersburg is transport accessibility. The city is easily accessible by plane, train or highway, so every tourist can choose the most convenient way, Izvestia writes.

Klevitskaya also notes the large selection of different hotels in St. Petersburg: from luxury hotels located in historical buildings to inexpensive mini-hotels located near the city center. She emphasizes that in St. Petersburg you can find accommodation for every taste and budget.

The city is also famous for its developed network of cafes and restaurants that offer both homemade and international cuisine. The expert pays special attention to bakeries.

Klevitskaya also notes the diversity of the excursion program in St. Petersburg. Travelers are offered both classic routes through museums (the Hermitage, the Kunstkamera) and walks along the canals on glanders. Fans of European atmosphere will especially like the island of New Holland.

Also for entertainment lovers there is Rubinshteina Street, known as the “bar triangle”, where you can find many establishments.
