“Sobchak is outraged”: her former commercial director was sentenced to 7 years

A sentence has been handed down to Kirill Sukhanov, the ex-director of Ksenia Sobchak’s holding company “Caution Media”. According to RIA Novosti, the Khamovnichesky court sentenced him to 7.5 years in a maximum security colony.

Sukhanov was accused of extorting 11 million rubles from the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov,

Former editor-in-chief of Tatler magazine Arian Romanovsky and Timur Bigaev also received 7 years each.

The consideration of the case began in July, the process was held behind closed doors. The investigation established that Sukhanov extorted 11 million rubles from Chemezov for “blocking” the publication of defamatory information in the “Lights Out” Telegram channel, where Romanovsky and Bigaev were administrators, as well as for deleting one of the posts.

The defendants did not admit guilt. According to them, they considered the communication rather commercial and businesslike; there were no threats or demands on their part.

After the verdict was announced, the TV presenter posted a post on Telegram. “There are no words. This is not just injustice. It’s much more than that. I fulfilled everything, all the agreements, so that there would be a mitigation. Why are you ruining people’s lives?” Sobchak asked. She also explained why she was not in the courtroom.

Previously, Sobchak stated that she had nothing to do with the “Tushite Svet” channel.
