At least seven new cases of baby trafficking have been identified in Moscow. The Moscow office of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported this on Telegram.
The agency clarified that the episodes are being considered as part of a criminal case, which was initiated in October 2023. “Seven more cases of transactions involving newborns were identified, and therefore the actions of the defendants were qualified as committed by an organized group,” the report noted.
Earlier, in October last year, searches in the case of child trafficking were carried out in a private medical clinic of the Delta Clinic network. Then three defendants were arrested – Yulia Loginova, Natalya Patoka and Farrukha Uskanova. All persons admitted guilt. It was reported that Loginova illegally became the guardian of 15 children, the biological mother of two of them is 30-year-old Farrukha Uskanova, who gave them to Yulia Loginova. The investigation established that the woman adopted children using forged documents, registering them as born by a surrogate mother.
The case also involves the director of the Wind of Change women’s shelter, Natalya Patoka, who is also raising 15 children.
