JSC Rusnano will ask the Moscow Arbitration Court to declare bankrupt the company Plastic Logic LLC, which was developing tablets with a bendable display, Interfax reports. A check of the relevant documentation of the enterprise showed that further development of the business will not lead to an increase in solvency. In 2011, the former head of Rusnano, Anatoly Chubais, promised then-Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to provide devices with flexible screens to schoolchildren throughout Russia.
At the same time, Rusnano emphasized that all investments in the project will be returned back. All necessary documents have already been submitted to law enforcement agencies as part of the “optimization of tax obligations.”
Let us recall that Plastic Logic LLC was founded in 2010 as an enterprise with the participation of two corporations – the Russian Rusnano and the British Plastic Logic (subsequently 43.84% of the company’s shares were acquired by the Russian side). Initially, the parties expected to produce 100 thousand flexible tablets per year. For this purpose, a plan for building a production plant was prepared in Zelenograd. However, the project was never implemented.
In 2016, Rusnano tried to take up the project again, but the search for investors ended in nothing.
2022 became unprofitable for Plastic Logic LLC – the company lost 702.4 million rubles. At the same time, the company’s negative performance worsened for the third year in a row.
