A memory lesson was held at Vladimir Putin’s election headquarters in St. Petersburg

One of the main battles of World War II, the Battle of Stalingrad, was the topic of a memory lesson that took place at the regional election headquarters of Russian presidential candidate Vladimir Putin. The event was timed to coincide with the Day of Military Glory of Russia, celebrated on February 2: in 1943, the Soviet army victoriously completed the legendary battle on this day, completely defeating the Nazi troops and turning the entire course of the war.

Using an interactive format, St. Petersburg schoolchildren and students were told about the heroic events of those years, the courage and perseverance shown by their ancestors. Young people gladly took part in historical quizzes and quests.

“We conduct such unique lessons of courage in the format of quests, so that you can study history not just by reading dry facts from textbooks, but learn about them directly in a game format,” noted the head of the regional branch of the All-Russian public movement “Volunteers of Victory” in St. Petersburg Alexey Moiseev. He explained that this form of presenting information, due to its clarity and emotionality, contributes to better assimilation of knowledge. In the future, young people actively use them, and also share their impressions with their peers.

According to the organizers, the interactive format is in great demand among young people, and lectures are regularly attended by thousands of schoolchildren and students across the country.
