Belarus has reinforced one section of the border with Ukraine with a brigade of special operations forces of the Armed Forces. Deputy brigade commander Vadim Bobilevich spoke about this, STV reports.
He clarified that part of the brigade is performing tasks to strengthen one of the sections of the state border in the southern direction. According to him, the main thing is to ensure the safety of Belarusians, suppress border violations, and eliminate channels for the supply of weapons and ammunition.
“Infrastructure and communications facilities are being protected. The brigade is equipped with weapons, military equipment, communications equipment and drones,” Bobilevich added.
Previously, the Border Committee of Belarus stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had gathered more than 100 thousand military personnel to the border of Belarus and were staging provocations. It was noted that the Ukrainian group “North” is concentrated against Belarus, while 17 thousand people are involved in the interests of strengthening the security of the state border. The Ukrainian side also uses volunteer formations to carry out tasks near the border with Belarus, including for the retention and reorganization of units that then leave for the combat zone, the Belarusian department clarified.
