Russian district police officers will be required to carry out preventive work with persons held accountable for discrediting the Russian army, as well as for promoting Nazi symbols. This order was issued by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, writes TASS.
Changes have already been made to the order “On the performance of service by district police officers.” Preventive conversations will be held with persons who have violated articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses on discrediting the army, propaganda and public display of Nazi paraphernalia or symbols of extremist organizations, as well as those who have committed crimes “against the order of government or encroached on public order.”
They will have preventive conversations. District police officers will also monitor the behavior and lifestyle of those registered, interview relatives and their neighbors, and apply administrative coercive measures.
It is noted that the basis for prevention will be decisions in cases of administrative offenses.
Let us remind you that criminal and administrative liability is provided for discrediting the armed forces in the Russian Federation. Violators face a fine of 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles, and in case of repeated administrative liability – a criminal case, the maximum penalty for which is imprisonment for up to seven years.
As of January 2024, 81 criminal cases were opened in the Russian Federation to discredit the army. 44 cases were sent to court, 45 persons became defendants.
