In an effort to create a positive attitude towards large families in society, the state needs to reconsider the policy of helping families, shifting the emphasis from providing assistance in case of poverty to preventing its occurrence, says Alexander Safonov, a professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
One of the key points in the new strategy is improving living conditions for large families. Safonov proposed that after the birth of the third child, the state should provide municipal housing corresponding to the number of family members, or issue subsidies covering 100% of the cost of renting an apartment. Such measures have already been successfully applied in other countries, such as Germany, reports aif.ru.
The second important aspect of the new program is education. Safonov offers guaranteed free access to nurseries and kindergartens for all large families. For schoolchildren, an annual provision of all necessary educational materials and uniforms should be provided, including a set of school and physical education uniforms, a briefcase, notebooks and even computers, if they are required for the educational process.
The expert believes that such changes will help not only remove the financial burden from large families, but will also create a favorable public attitude towards large families, helping to strengthen family values and ensure equal opportunities for all children.
