Charitable organization Nochlezhka plans to open a restaurant where homeless people will work

In February 2022, the St. Petersburg charitable public organization Nochlezhka is going to open the Entrance from the Street restaurant, which will have a system of transit employment for former homeless people. Nochlezhka’s wards will work in the restaurant for 3-4 months – it is assumed that annually 15-20 people will undergo such an internship, who will be able to try themselves as cooks, waiters, purchasers.

According to the director of Nochlezhka, Grigory Sverdlin, when opening a restaurant, the organization’s employees want “people who cannot get out of the street due to the lack of a profession in demand, get a chance for another life,” and it is also important for social activists “to blow ashes stupid stereotype “they don’t want to work, they are to blame”. In addition to trainees, the restaurant “Entrance from the street” will also work professionals of the restaurant sector.

“The first stage of recruiting trainees to the restaurant has already started, while this is informing our clients: the social workers of our consulting service tell the wards about this opportunity,” says Tatiana Bazhenova, PR-specialist of Nochlezhka. “We consider only those candidates who have experience in resocialization projects – either lived, or are now living in our shelters, or street clients who come to the counseling service for help. If a homeless person who is not yet familiar with Nochlezhka wants to get this internship, he must first contact the counseling service on Borovaya Street. “

The Entrance from the Street restaurant will be located in the St. Petersburg Berthold Center (13-15 Grazhdanskaya Street). Famous restaurateurs Alexander Berkovsky, Dmitry Blinov, Anton Abrezov, Jos Frumkin and Artem Temirov help to develop the concept of the establishment, and the design was created free of charge by the studio “Kapodaki”. Now in the premises transferred to Nochlezhka as a restaurant, renovations are underway. To complete the work, it is necessary to collect 2.5 million rubles by the end of the year. For this, the organization launched a collection on its website.

Let us remind you that earlier Nochlezhka opened heating points in two districts of St. Petersburg.
