Moscow barred entry to seven Britons in response to London’s sanctions in the “Navalny case”

Moscow has banned seven British citizens from entering Russia in response to London imposing personal sanctions against seven Russians in August in connection with the Navalny case. This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Recall that in August London imposed sanctions against seven citizens of the Russian Federation with the wording “direct responsibility for the poisoning of Navalny.” The sanctions affected seven FSB officers, including the director of the FSB Institute of Forensic Science, General Kirill Vasiliev, his deputy Stanislav Makshakov, two employees of the institute, as well as Colonel General and Head of the Service for the Protection of the Constitutional System and the Fight against Terrorism of the FSB Alexei Sedov, the head of the special technological center of the FSB, Major General Vladimir Bogdanov and FSB officer Vladimir Panyaev.

Russia called this step an unfounded anti-Russian attack and promised a reaction.

Moscow is imposing retaliatory sanctions on the basis of the principle of reciprocity. Representatives of Great Britain, “who are closely involved in anti-Russian activities,” will be restricted from entering Russia.
