The Russian government wants to introduce a registration function in hotels through the Gosuslugi service, Kommersant reports, citing the government press service. The ability to check into hotels using a mobile application will be implemented as part of the “road map” to improve the business climate “Tourism”. This concept was approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The government notes that the “road map” was developed taking into account the wishes and proposals of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. Through “Gosuslugi” it will be possible to register in hotels without a passport using biometrics, and also use a foreign passport when registering without reference to your place of permanent residence. In addition, innovations from the “road map” will make it possible to clarify the concept of “ski resort” and tighten the responsibility for guides, including guide-translators.
The possibility of registration through an electronic service does not require the presence of paper documents. This, according to the Cabinet of Ministers, will significantly simplify the registration procedure for citizens and make their vacation more comfortable and modern. The government plans to implement the electronic service by the spring of 2024, when the corresponding act should be adopted.
Previously, the government talked about the reconstruction of federal sanatoriums in the amount of 50 billion rubles. The Cabinet of Ministers also discussed the possibility of opening tourist spots in coastal areas – on the Japanese, Baltic, Black and other seas. The transformation of the tourism services sector is planned to be completed by 2030.
