Businessman Elon Musk announced the likelihood of about a billion robots with human abilities and appearance appearing on Earth, Fox Business reports, citing the billionaire’s social networks. According to Musk, by 2040 humanoid robots will become an integral part of people’s daily lives if human development is stable.
Thus, Musk generally agrees with the predictions of the founder of the Midjourney artificial intelligence development and analysis corporation, David Holtz, who believes that in about 40 years, about 100 billion robots can be found in the solar system, including from other planets.
In 2022, Tesla announced the replacement of living factory workers with artificial ones under the Optimus brand. These robots were presented to the public a year earlier under the name Tesla Bot. Such machines are capable of moving independently and moving their limbs.
Last December, Tesla presented its own humanoid robot, Tesla Optimus Gen 2, which is capable of imitating human movements, including gait. The developers have significantly expanded the functionality of the robot compared to the first generation Optimus. Optimus Gen 2 now completes tasks faster and weighs significantly less than its predecessor.
Musk believes that 2024 will be more difficult than previous years. At the same time, one should not expect an improvement in the general situation in the world, the entrepreneur is sure. Musk wrote about this on his social networks in response to a user’s question about whether the troubled times will finally end.
