The Ukrainian Armed Forces will continue attacks on Russian territory, despite Western concerns about a possible escalation of the conflict. This statement was made by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, Financial Times.
According to media reports, the “bold tactics of Ukrainian drone attacks” are causing concern among some of Ukraine’s partners, who warn that it could provoke a harsher response from Moscow. However, the head of Ukrainian intelligence is not worried about such concerns, and he promises to “continue to work in the depths of Russia,” the newspaper notes.
“Everything that we did, we will do in the future,” Budanov promised.
He also disagreed with the assertion that Ukraine’s summer counteroffensive was a complete failure. “To say that everything is fine is not true. To say that a disaster occurred is also not true,” Budanov said.
At the same time, he admitted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine needed mobilization. “It’s unthinkable to even think that we can do without additional mobilization. The shortage of military personnel is noticeable,” the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate emphasized. He also predicted that this year will be difficult for Ukraine.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky spoke about a request to mobilize 500 thousand people. Russia previously noted that, judging by the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Western countries decided to fight with Russia “to the last Ukrainian.”
Let us remind you that general mobilization in Ukraine has been ongoing since February 2022.
Earlier today, the Smolensk, Tula, Oryol, Kursk regions, as well as Sevastopol, were attacked. In addition, an enterprise in the Leningrad region was attacked, and a powerful blow was dealt to the market in Donetsk. As a result, 25 people were killed and another 20 were injured.
