Kyiv allowed the signing of a peace treaty with Moscow

The conflict with Russia will end only after the restoration of Ukraine’s borders to the state of 1991, while the Russian Federation must renounce nuclear weapons. This statement was made by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ivan Gavrilyuk, Tagesspiegel reports.

He emphasized that any conflict ultimately ends in negotiations. “Agreements will be signed – on the one hand, by a coalition of states that support Ukraine, and by Russia on the other hand,” Gavrilyuk noted, as quoted by Kommersant. He added that the document should include a clause on Russia’s renunciation of nuclear weapons, calling the Russian Federation “a threat to the world.”

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the presidential office, took a similar position. On the telethon, he said that negotiations could begin “when the Russian Federation receives certain tactical defeats,” but “Russia must voluntarily renounce nuclear weapons.”

Previously, Moscow has repeatedly stated its readiness to resume negotiations with Ukraine on a peaceful settlement. However, Kiev emphasized that the political and military leadership of Ukraine is in favor of continuing hostilities with Russia due to a poor negotiating position.
