In St. Petersburg, there was a chase with shooting due to the fact that the driver, who did not let a pedestrian through, refused to follow the instructions of the traffic police.
According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, at about 11:40 am near house number 19 on Prosveshcheniya Avenue, traffic police inspectors stopped a KIA Optima car driven by a 32-year-old citizen. He did not let the pedestrian ride on the zebra crossing, and when the police stopped the car and asked for documents, the man refused. Then law enforcement officers tried to carry out a forceful arrest, but the driver began to move, knocking down two inspectors.
One of the injured traffic police officers used a service weapon, firing at the wheels of KIA. As a result, the violator was detained. The police officers received minor injuries – they received medical assistance on the spot.
As a result of the use of service weapons, no one was hurt. As for the offender, a check is underway against him.
