Analysts’ forecast: In the coming days, the ruble exchange rate may strengthen against the dollar and euro

The RT publication conducted a survey of analysts who shared their forecasts regarding changes in dollar and euro exchange rates in the coming days.

BitRiver financial analyst Vladislav Antonov identified several factors contributing to the strengthening of the ruble over the past few days. He noted the resumption of foreign exchange earnings from exporters, rising oil prices, as well as the start of foreign currency sales by the Russian Ministry of Finance in accordance with the budget rule for the first time since August last year. According to his forecast, if market sentiment remains unchanged, the ruble may strengthen against the dollar to 86 rubles, against the euro – up to 94 rubles and against the yuan – up to 12 rubles.

Director of Russian and CIS markets at fam Properties Valery Tumin noted that the beginning of the year is characterized by a traditionally low season, when the demand for currency among tourists and businesses decreases after the New Year holidays. At the same time, exporters are actively selling foreign exchange earnings, which leads to an increase in the difference between supply and demand. Increased oil prices due to the conflict in the Middle East also contribute to the strengthening of the ruble. Tumin predicts that in the coming week we can expect the ruble to strengthen, with quotes of about 86 rubles per dollar, about 95 rubles per euro and 12.3-12.5 rubles per yuan.
