Two subjects suspected of robbery at a premises in Santa Elena with preventive detention; partner of deceased man denies that he participated in robbery

Joffre SM and Andy Kevin Y., suspected of the robbery of a restaurant, must serve preventive detention by order of a judge.

Both survived a traffic accident that occurred last Tuesday in Ballenita, Santa Elena canton.

They were traveling on a motorcycle along with Oswaldo Israel GM, who died after the impact with a public transport bus while a police chase was taking place.

After the crash, Danilo S., the bus driver, was detained, but after the flagrante delicto hearing, he regained his freedom with alternative measures for the duration of the accident investigation.

Through a security video, it is observed when motorists circulate on one of the roads in the town and crash into the bus. Behind them comes the police patrol car.

According to a police officer, the three subjects were allegedly fleeing the robbery.

However, his partner, who avoided identifying himself, spoke to the local media to deny that he was involved in the robbery. “My husband is a merchant, sometimes he took races (on the motorcycle), that he took without seeing is very different … I have all the covers that we were in the premises, he had to make a delivery,” added the widow .

The female affirmed that together with Oswaldo they sold sneakers and he planned to take an order.

Before, he told her, he would stop by a family member because he wanted to cut his hair.

Regarding the two subjects who were also on the motorcycle, he said he did not know them. “He may know them and they are friends with him, I don’t know … During the course that he went to deliver some slippers, I don’t know who he met on the way,” added the widow. (I)
