The recently deceased film director Sergei Soloviev has often been in hospitals in recent months and is very tired of it. “KP” writes about the last days of Solovyov’s life with reference to the director’s entourage.

So, due to diabetes mellitus, Solovyov developed a non-healing trophic ulcer. Two years ago, he underwent surgery to save his leg. Since then, Solovyov’s life has changed, it was difficult for him to get up and walk, he had to hire a nurse. Solovyov also underwent heart surgery.

As the assistant director said, Solovyov recently “was so tired of hospitals that he did not want to go there, he said that he wanted to die at home.” In addition, he “gave in” and began to get sick often after the death of his son Dmitry (he died in 2018).

Soloviev talked with all three of his ex-wives, the last of them – actress Tatyana Drubich, a physician by training – was often there and monitored the course of his treatment.

According to the assistant, Soloviev died unexpectedly. On the day of his death, December 13, he “felt good,” joked and smiled. “Nothing foreshadowed his imminent departure,” the assistant said. Drubich called him and said that she was going to visit him, but he refused, saying that everything was fine with him. “It was about 4 pm. And an hour later he was gone. He began to choke, the nurse called an ambulance, but it was too late, ”the assistant concluded.
