Putin addressed Russians with New Year’s greetings

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the Russians with traditional New Year’s greetings. In his address, which was the first to be seen on television by residents of regions where the New Year has already arrived, the head of state said that in 2023 Russia defended its national interests, security and freedom.

“We are saying goodbye to 2023, very soon it will become part of history, and we have to move forward, create the future,” Putin said, noting that Russians are united by the fate of their fatherland.

“We have proven more than once that we can solve the most difficult problems and will never retreat, because there is no force that can divide us, make us forget the memory and faith of our fathers, and stop our development,” the Russian leader emphasized.

In addition, the Russian President addressed the participants in the special operation. According to him, the country is proud of its heroes and admires their courage. “I know that now you feel the love of your closest, dearest people. Sincere support of millions of citizens,” he added.

Note that Putin’s address this year lasted three minutes and 45 seconds and was recorded against a traditional background with the Kremlin in the background. Last year’s speech by the head of state took place against the backdrop of the participants of the Northern Military District.

Earlier, sociologists reported that 76% of Russians plan to watch Putin’s New Year’s address.
