In the Moscow region, the father of a journalist, head of the Synodal Department for Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church with Society and head of the press service of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ Kirill Vladimir Legoida was found murdered. This was reported by official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk on Telegram.
According to her, the body of 90-year-old Roman Legoyda was found in Vidnoye with stab wounds.
The murder suspect was detained. He turned out to be a 25-year-old man. According to investigators, the suspect attacked the victim “in order to seize his money.” He stole 100 thousand rubles from a pensioner, and left the man’s body in a ravine by the side of the road near SNT Meshcherino-Churilkovo.
Some of the stolen money was discovered during a search in the suspect’s rented apartment.
Now investigators and criminologists are working with him. A criminal case has been opened.
Let us note that the son of the murdered man, Vladimir Legoida, is also known for being the first person without a spiritual education to take a post in the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate. Legoyda is responsible for the interaction of the Russian Orthodox Church with public organizations and heads the press service of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’.
