In the historic center of St. Petersburg on 4th Sovetskaya Street, a layer of plaster fell from one of the buildings. Two police officers who were nearby were injured.
“The victims received minor injuries, they received medical assistance on the spot, which allowed them to start continuing their service,” TASS reports, citing the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city and the Leningrad Region.
Earlier, the St. Petersburg media named a different number of victims – from two to three people.
The bay window of the house was covered with a protective mesh, it tore, which led to the spontaneous collapse of the plaster layer. The scene of the incident is fenced off, the examination of the plaster layer of the facade is scheduled for tomorrow, December 16.
Previously, the company that manages this house has already raised the alarm, insisting on the need for an early overhaul of the facade and presenting documents allowing this object to be included in the updated list of overhaul of the facades of houses for 2021.
