The loans will be more focused on women entrepreneurs.
“As of Monday, January 3, we will start from BanEcuador loans at 1% interest, up to 30 years term, from $ 500, or it can be less as well, up to a maximum of $ 5,000,” informed President Guillermo Lasso, the afternoon of Wednesday on the show Encountered, which was broadcast on official government networks.
The loans will focus mainly on women entrepreneurs from the agricultural, handicraft, small industry, micro-commerce and micro-industry sectors, Lasso said.
On December 10, the president issued Executive Decree 284, which declared the delivery of these loans a “national priority”.
During the program Encountered, the president advanced some details of a new measure that will be adopted for clients who have debts with the public bank.
“… that this debt from the past is not a limitation to take a new loan with BanEcuador,” he briefly mentioned.
BanEcuador would handle a ceiling of up to $ 5,000 per beneficiary for the initial phase of 1% credit for a 30-year term
He also referred to the $ 25 increase to the unified basic salary (SBU), ensuring that it is a “social justice” decision.
In this regard, he suggested to the workers who will receive the increase, to save the money. He also stated that these people could apply for a small loan in BanEcuador and pay small installments with the additional $ 25 to the basic salary. (I)
