The Russian Permanent Representative to the UN called on Kyiv to wait for the “worst news”

The Ukrainian authorities “failed” and Kyiv and its allies should expect “the worst news” in the near future. This was stated by the Russian permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine, broadcast on the UN website.

He called the country “a private military company in the hands of Western countries.” Nebenzya added that Ukraine does not and will not have the resources to “at least maintain the situation on the line of combat contact.” “The military plans of the Kyiv regime have suffered a total fiasco, so expect the worst news for you and your Ukrainian proxies in the very near future,” noted the permanent representative of the Russian Federation.

The diplomat added that US and EU assistance “will only delay the agony of the regime, but will not prevent it.” At the same time, “nothing threatens peaceful Ukrainians, the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian culture, no matter how much and no matter how much the West tries to prove the opposite,” the diplomat added.

He stressed that Russia remains ready for negotiations with Ukraine. Moreover, Moscow gave Kyiv the opportunity to maintain territorial integrity, “of course, without Crimea,” Nebenzya noted.

He also accused Ukraine of placing air defense systems in residential areas. It was the work of air defense that caused casualties among civilians during the massive Russian shelling on December 29, the permanent representative of the Russian Federation emphasized, explaining that Kyiv is deploying air defense in residential areas in violation of international humanitarian law. “Russian missiles and drones hit military infrastructure and weapons depots, causing a characteristic detonation, and Ukrainian air defense missiles, missing or going off course, fall on residential buildings and civilian objects,” Nebenzya added. He advised to beware of British statements about the supply of another 100 air defense missiles to Kyiv, the use of which is killing civilians.

The meeting of the UN Security Council was held on the initiative of the Ukrainian side. Kyiv explained this by a massive Russian strike on Ukrainian targets on December 29.
