Singer Laima Vaikule was criticized by her creative colleagues. Composer Raymond Pauls and poet Ilya Reznik spoke negatively about her, writes MK.
The media notes that the singer provoked the “conflict” herself – the other day Vaikule “attacked the composer Pauls, who wrote her main compositions.” She stated that all of Pauls’ music was copied from Western hits. Raymond did not remain in debt, noting that Vaikule “all the time carries some kind of nonsense.” According to him, he has not taken her seriously for a long time.
Vaikule’s behavior also outraged the poet Ilya Reznik. “I have no words. <…> Today I was told how Lyma insulted my beloved co-author Raymond. <…> I couldn’t keep silent. Raymond says he doesn’t take Lyme seriously. This is right. But she must treat her composer seriously and with great respect,” the poet noted.
According to him, she was always ungrateful towards him. “But Raymond… He is a great composer, pianist and conductor,” Reznik added.
“We pulled Vaikule out of the tavern, created a repertoire for her, and brought her to the stage. I took her to a competition in Bratislava with our song “Vernissage”. We received the Golden Lyre. <…> And after that she says nasty things to the person to whom she owes her entire creative life,” Reznik was indignant.
In his opinion, all of Vaikule’s latest statements are related to financial difficulties. “I know that she has a difficult diagnosis. She needs to earn money for expensive medicines. God will be her judge,” the poet added.
