It has become known whether the Unified State Examination (USE) will change as part of the new model of higher education in Russia. The head of Rosobrnadzor, Anzor Muzaev, spoke about the adjustments, TASS reports.
According to him, the Unified State Exam is completely satisfactory for universities, so the new education model will not change its format and content.
“We don’t need to change anything, or reform, or abandon the Unified State Exam,” Muzaev noted, but added that “it is still necessary for that new model of higher education, for universities, to organize a competition, based on the results of which they will select the best of the best ” “Now the exam is self-sufficient,” the head of Rosobrnadzor emphasized.
He clarified that the format of the Unified State Exam “is absolutely satisfactory to higher education institutions.”
The head of Rosobrnadzor also added that the Unified State Exam and the Bologna education system do not depend on each other in any way.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education and Science announced the abandonment of the Bologna system and the creation of its own “unique” model of higher education. Among other things, it was proposed to abandon bachelor’s and master’s degrees in favor of basic and specialized higher levels of education – the duration of study for the first will be from four to six years, for the second – from one to three years. A pilot project for the transition to the new system has already begun at MAI, MISIS, MPGU, Baltic Federal University, St. Petersburg Mining University and Tomsk State University.
