From December 21 to 23, the Days of Moscow were held in Astana. A delegation of the Moscow government headed by the Minister, Head of the Department of External Economic and International Relations Sergei Cheremin arrived in the capital of Kazakhstan to participate in the events.
As part of the Days program, meetings were held with the Akim of Astana, Zhenis Kasymbek, the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabaev, and the Minister of Culture and Information, Aida Balaeva.
The central event was the business forum “Smart Cities: Moscow and Astana”. The experts paid special attention to promising projects of cooperation between the two capitals, the development of transport infrastructure, creative industries, and the introduction of digital technologies in the management of urban processes.
Sergey Cheremin in his presentation spoke about Moscow’s achievements in the field of creating a comfortable urban environment and implementing the Smart City project. “Today Moscow is a leader in the development of electric transport. An electric water bus was launched this year. During this season alone, more than 300 thousand residents and guests of the capital took advantage of it. We strive to ensure that all city public transport becomes electric by 2030,” Cheremin noted.
Muscovites have prepared an interesting cultural program for residents and guests of Astana. On the eve of the New Year holidays, a meeting with Moscow’s Father Frost was organized for children and the play “If I Were an Adult” was shown, in which the actors of the Pokrovka Theater played roles. An art exhibition “Luminescence” was opened at the Moscow business center, where the unique works of Elena Kutuzova were exhibited for the first time. In addition, soloists and actors from Moscow theaters performed at the joint concert, accompanied by the Astana Symphony Orchestra.
