Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the prolongation of QR codes for coronavirus patients in accordance with federal requirements. He wrote about this in a blog on his personal website. The corresponding decree was published on the official website of the mayor of Moscow.
According to him, the validity period of QR codes issued on the basis of negative PCR tests is being reduced from three to two calendar days due to the spread of the more infectious omicron strain.
According to Sobyanin’s decree, from December 20, Moscow QR codes for those who have been ill will be extended from six to 12 months, and new ones will be immediately issued for a year. At the same time, on the last day of the validity period of six-month QR codes, new ones will be automatically issued for another six months.
In the case when the six-month code has already expired, but less than a year has passed since the illness, the person will receive a new code for 12 months from the day of recovery.
For people who have been vaccinated against coronavirus, QR codes will be valid for a year as before. It is specified that, according to the decision of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the vaccination certificate may be canceled if a person becomes ill with coronavirus.
