The Investigative Committee for the Penza region opened a criminal case. It was previously established that the child felt unwell the day before. According to the head of the group accompanying the children, on December 20, the girl’s temperature rose to 39 degrees. A nurse examined the girl and gave her an antipyretic, after which the temperature dropped. However, a little later the child lost consciousness, an ambulance was called, but they could not resuscitate the child.

Law enforcement officers began an investigation. During the train’s journey, the restaurant director and cook were already interviewed.

125 children from this train were sent to a Saratov hospital to be checked for any diseases and receive medical care. About 30 children complained of fever and were hospitalized. As the governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, clarified, Rospotrebnadzor promptly deployed a mobile laboratory on site.

Mash writes that the camp where the deceased girl was vacationing is being checked by employees of Roszdrav and Rospotrebnadzor. It is noted that before leaving, no one complained of feeling unwell. The deceased also had no complaints before leaving.
