The XIV Indian-Russian Business Dialogue took place in Moscow

The XIV Indian-Russian Business Dialogue, which took place in the capital of the Russian Federation, was attended by representatives of federal ministries, departments and business communities of the two countries. The forum was organized by the Moscow Department of External Economic and International Relations, the Indian Business Alliance (IBA), the Business Council for Cooperation with India and the Roscongress Foundation.

The key event was the plenary session “Development of bilateral trade and investment cooperation: prospects for cooperation between India and Russia.” Lively discussions took place in the specialized sections “Creating synergy: transport management, logistics and e-commerce integration”, “Innovative growth: interaction between pharmaceuticals, IT and new technologies”, “Expanding the possibilities of economic landscapes: prospects for the development of bank financing and small and medium-sized businesses” .

The Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the City Department of External Economic and International Relations Sergei Cheremin, speaking at the plenary session, noted that India is one of the fastest growing countries with GDP growth of more than 7%, which has already entered the top five largest economies in the world in terms of purchasing power parity. Since gaining independence, India has been a reliable strategic partner of Russia in many areas, including energy, engineering, defense and high technology.

Over the past year, the Moscow Department of External Economic and International Relations and the Business Council for Cooperation with India organized dozens of business events aimed at strengthening partnerships and developing interregional ties. And in 2024, Sergei Cheremin announced Moscow’s participation in a new business mission, which will be held in January, and in the most important Asian forum Smart Nation Expo in Delhi, where the capital plans to present its advanced achievements over the past decade.

The discussion participants highly appreciated the role of IBA in strengthening and building business ties between business communities, the purpose of which is to promote the interests of Indian business in Russia. Thanks to the work of the Alliance, many memorandums of understanding have been signed with chambers of commerce and commercial associations, which helps strengthen foreign economic relations between the two countries.
